Hi out there!

I have Jommlaplazza (20080815-000648)since a few days. Right now i have 3 installations.
- one original (for testing, having a look what was, etc)
- one testsystem with CB1.2RC3 (for upgradtesting and learning)
- one "real" installation with CB1.2RC3 (unfortunately)

The installation of the CB 1.2 was no problem and CB itself works fine. When you follow the instructions made here you also can install the extended profile view without problems.
Unfortunately there are some other issues that showed up during the last days after the installation of CB 1.2:

- the captcha in the registration does not work anymore. i do not know why till now

- the CB login doesnīt show the connection requests or the new messages. Im quite sure its because of the replaced cb login module, but i havent had a closer look for it. But i could live with it. Way worse is that

- the comments in the user profile donīt work. And i still have not figured out which module is responsible for the comments. The "Jom Comment" extension is for the comments in the articles, am i right?

and finally (up to now)
- the advanced search dies with this failure notice when i search:
"unknown column 'ue.formatname' in 'where clause'(...)"

And now my main question: Is it worth the work for a (more or less) noob like me to upgrade to CB 1.2?!

Or should i better leave JoomlaPlazza as it is and take care of the other problems i have with the original version (like: why isnīt GroupJive sending ANY mail?!@Andy: Iīd be happy if you give me a hint here)

So. Im a bit confused right now. There is so much to think of and im losing my focus. I dontīwant a masterplan from you guys. Just a push in the right direction.

Im just wondering why everybody talks about the extended profile view and nobody about the other "problems" that come along with CB 1.2. (or are these just RC3 issuses and i am the first who discovered them?!)

I have cb 1.2.rc2 working on a test version without to many problems. Firstly you have to upgrade a lot of the plugins to the 1.2 compatible versions!

You need the version of captcha that works with cb1.2rc. Its on joomlapolis, doc subscribers downloads. Uninstall the version you have and install the new one.

The new cb login no longer has the avatar option but other wise it should work. You need to use the new login module and enable the connection requests or the new messages in the plugin options!

The comments use the profile guest book plugin thats been around for years, just uninstall it and re-install! You may have to do this with alot of malfunctioning plugins. This happens when you upgrade cb!

Other people realize there will be problems and just fix them. thats why they don't talk much about them.

I'm at a loss with the advanced search, Its just a bad component, It doesn't even work right on any site and thats with cb1.1, maybe not even work at all with knewer versions. The entire thing needs to be re-written. If I was you Id use CB1.2's knew built in search functions if you are going to use that version.

Well I told you how to fix most of them. Its just matter of installing and re-installing. Or switching to compatible versions.
